Occasion1000 years Hungarian history
DescriptionThe Hungarian history in pictures on 3 sheetlets. One stamp in this sheetlet remembers the 1956 insurrection. The Polish supported the Hungarians and offered humanitarian help. In front the face of composer Zoltan Kodaly, in the background the fights in Budapest and in the upper right corner a banner with the text Solidarność polsko-węgierska (Polish-Hungarian solidarity). The banner covers also a part of the next stamp. Remarkable: the word Solidarność is shown as the logo from this Polish trade union, but this logo was designed in 1981. It has nothing to do with the 1956 insurrection. Maybe it is to remember the fact that democratisation in Poland paved the way for the return of the democracy in Hungary.
