Occasion20th anniversary of Serpost
DescriptionFrom 1994 on the Peruvian Post company lost its monopoly position and had to operate as a private organization on a free market. The name was changed in Serpost. The stamp shows this name and the number 20.
In the background are the flags of 27 countries. The flags belong to the USA (left side) Brazil (in the middle, behind the figure 2) and to the member countries of the European Union. Probably are these countries the most important trading partners for Peru. The flags are placed in alphabetical sequence from their English names, from America (for USA) to United Kingdom. Remarkable: The flags of Austria and Cyprus are not shown. The French flag is not displayed correctly. On the first line, on the right, next to the Finnish flag, we should see the French flag, with the colors blue-red-white and not red-white-red. Such a national flag does not exist!
