Comment on 1st sheet: Churchill was not yet prime minister in 1939, only a member of the parliament. De Gaulle was in 1939 a general in the French army and also had nothing to do with the German invasion in Poland. Comment on 2nd sheet: Guderian was commander of the German armed troops during the invasion of Poland. Rydz-Śmigły was the commander of the Polish army in 1939. On the margin: German tanks in the surroundings of Bydgoszcz. This issue doesn't have postal value and has been printed especially for collectors. |
